Prerequisites

The desktop build. Save open engineering files before experimenting with layout.

Steps

Switch workbench

Choose Start or Python (when installed) in the workbench selector. Switching changes available commands; engineering documents, script editors and plot tabs stay in the shared central area.

Find open views

Use central tab headings, Window entries, or Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab while the central workspace has focus. Check which kind of tab is active before saving or running.

Show a hidden panel or toolbar

Use View panel entries and View → Toolbars. The Python console and debugger are distinct surfaces; some are intentionally hidden until requested.

Restore a usable layout

Use View → Reset layout when panels are off-screen or the arrangement is unusable. A layout reset is a presentation action, not a document rollback or a reset of material values.

Adjust appearance

Select an available Light, Dark or Slate theme under Appearance, or use Preferences. Font, toolbar/task placement and new-view defaults are documented in OpenSite/Guides/Set preferences. Existing views can retain their own presentation settings.

Expected result

You can recover panels and navigate open tabs while keeping document data intact.

Limitations

Saved named workspaces and arbitrary custom workbench/menu composition are not established user workflows in this baseline.
