Use the repository’s Windows desktop preset when you are an authorized developer.

Prerequisites

Repository and dependency access; Visual Studio 2026 with the required C++ toolchain, CMake and matching prepared dependency prefixes. This is not an end-user installer guide.

Steps

Prepare matching dependencies

The documented layout has a dependency root containing matching Debug/Release scientific, Qt and Eigen prefixes. Configure does not download or build them automatically. Follow the repository’s Build-and-Dependencies guide for the selected snapshot.

Choose one configuration

Use windows-vs2026-release-desktop for a Release desktop tree. Debug is a separate preset and dependency configuration. Do not reuse a build directory configured for another generator or runtime.

Configure and build

cmake --preset windows-vs2026-release-desktop
cmake --build --preset windows-vs2026-release-desktop

A successful configure is not proof of a complete runnable distribution. Keep the command output and use the repository’s test/staging procedure.

Use CMake GUI if preferred

Choose the repository source and a new build directory, select the desktop preset or matching dependency root/configuration and GUI/Python options, Configure, then Generate. The repository documents OpenSite.slnx for the Visual Studio 2026 generator. Build only its selected configuration.

Verify the delivered layout

Use the repository’s install/stage workflow and its clean runtime checks. A raw executable in a build tree is not a replacement for a package with Qt plugins, extensions and runtime closure.

Return to user help

Once you have a verified matching desktop package, follow OpenSite/Guides/First desktop session. Report your own commands/results; historical acceptance reports are not a test of your computer.

Expected result

You have selected the correct existing build procedure without confusing it with public installation.

Limitations

No source licence is granted here. This page does not publish dependency binaries, redefine SDK compatibility or claim a new build/test result.
