Work with user-defined materials, their identity, validation and exchange.
Material workflow
A material is a document object. Create it, validate it, inspect its use, edit or duplicate it, then save the containing document.
Learn by doing
- Create a user material
- Edit, duplicate and renumber
- Export and import materials
- Apply a dimensionless expression
Desktop entry points
When the material extension is available, the Materials group has Add Material, Material Manager, Import Materials and Export Materials context actions. An individual material exposes Edit, Duplicate, Show Users, Renumber and Delete. The exact availability follows the selected document and object.
Library availability
Production standard grades remain pending owner selection in this source snapshot. The installed opensite_material_library package is not proof that a production catalog is populated. Its sample status is pending with no production providers. Test fixtures are explicitly non-production and may require the protected material.catalog capability.
